It’s 2022, have you still not made the most of AI?

Updated: Nov 2, 2022

Computing power is growing more powerful, scientific advancements are pushing AI forward, and automated systems are becoming common place, however, the human element is more important than ever.

Effective use of Artificial Intelligence in a corporate strategy is quickly becoming the competitive advantage. Yet, this digital arms race is more advanced than simply building AI tools and hiring data scientists. In fact, it is the merging of man with machine through the implementation, adoption, and integration of hybrid systems. These hybrid systems combine the talent of an organization with AI learning to accelerate and enhance an organizations’ ability to learn.

A Study conducted by a Stanford found that the scale of AI enhancements is increasing, with the number of patents having increased 30 times from 2015 to 2021. Yet, despite the increase in the resource abilities, AIs value to a cooperate structure needs to go beyond being just an advanced computing tool, rather it needs to be merged into every aspect of an organization.

For leaders successful in the use of AI, it has become a corner stone of their business systems, workplace culture, and strategic resources.

Via the culminated leveraging of the named elements, it becomes possible to construct higher levels of interaction that produce more tangible results. This is accomplished by gearing all aspects of an organization for AI, enabling for deeper learning to become manifest with the aid of in-house talent.

The future is bionic

The potential of AI is only limited by the talent of the people an organization has. A hybrid system must acknowledge the differences between data vs creative thinking, with the end goal of dividing work between AI and human elements based on strengths. AI can use differing types of learning to gain initial ideas, perspectives and quickly process vast amounts of data. However, the human creative thinking is still needed to propel and leverage the baseline found by AI. A strong hybrid structure allows the talent to amplify the findings and understandings of AI. With the challenge for most firms stemming from the integration and managerial organization of the tools and talent. Meaning, good governance knows the strengths of both and can implement systems and ways of working that leverage both with the aim to streamline workflow and be more efficient. Good systems embrace technology at its core to make work easier and automate the most basic tasks so it can trust its people to create, deliver, and build on the human wants and needs of their consumers.

Change is coming ready or not

AI used to be a trop of science fiction films now it’s the difference between the firms that are here today and will be here tomorrow. The majority of companies now have access to the technological capabilities to use AI but are not able to even grasp its potential. Only being held back by the hard to make changes to a company’s culture, way of thinking and integration of its resources to align its capabilities with its goals. Harsh cultural, attitude based, behavioural and learning based changes are needed to adopt a hybrid approach, organizations must be united, flexible, and agile to fully revolutionize their ways of working. Vitally only the best governance structures have been able to embrace hybrid work systems in a seamless way to find new forms of organizational learning. Firms with just people see the same gains, firms that add elements AI see enhanced gains, firms with humans working with AI see the gains of tomorrow today.
