Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Technology Consultant - Financial Services at Finsys. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive meaningful impact in financial and operational strategy while shaping the future of banking operations through data-driven insights and best-in-class consulting practices.



Who you work with? 

As a consultant, you will collaborate closely with our client in the Banking Industry. Your role will require both strategic thinking and hands-on execution as you oversee and guide financial activities.

 

You will engage with a diverse set of stakeholders to ensure alignment across planning and financial processes while ensuring that project priorities reflect the Bank’s strategic roadmap. Your ability to analyze complex financial data, establish structure, and effectively manage objectives will be critical to success. This role demands multitasking across multiple projects, requiring you to oversee budgets, optimize processes, and drive efficiency in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

 

Functions

You will bring strong leadership, analytical expertise, and a deep understanding of financial and operational management in the banking and technology sectors. Your ability to streamline financial planning, manage vendor relationships, and drive performance through data-driven decision-making will be instrumental in achieving business goals.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the department's budget and contract management processes to enhance operational efficiency and business performance.

  • Managing a ~$10M budget in partnership with Finance and Technology teams and leading the financial planning process.

  • Producing accurate budgets and forecasts while building and maintaining financial models.

  • Creating internal reports to support the Bank’s decision-making process.

  • Analyzing historical data and conducting financial analysis.

  • Reporting on variance analysis, pipeline analysis and suggest relevant actions.

  • Executing a strategic supplier management strategy and implementing optimized vendor relationship management practices.

  • Leading integrated resource planning, ensuring alignment with the Bank’s objectives and operational guidelines.

  • Defining and utilizing KPIs to track financial and operational performance while identifying and mitigating risks.

  • Conducting regular performance reviews, delivering insights to senior management, and implementing process improvements.

  • Ensuring compliance with internal financial policies and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and develop actionable solutions.

  • Knowledge of financial analysis, research techniques, and business strategy.

  • Solid understanding of economic, financial, and operational principles.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.

  • Strong financial acumen and ability to translate KPIs into actionable business strategies.

  • Robust understanding of financial and operational levers (e.g. project charter creation, working capital management, financial analysis).

  • Experience working in management consulting or investment banking.

  • Excellent language skills (C2 level in English and B2 in French) suited to confidently addressing complex challenges in environments with diverse stakeholder groups.
